João José Encarnação, 67 years old. Best known as John. Son of the late José Julia R. Encarnação e Maria de Valadares. Born in Cape Verde Islands on São Nicolau Island. Resided in the US close to 44 years in Rhode Island. John will Be missed, leaving behind daughters and sons, Silvia Encarnação, Carla Encarnação, Marizia Fortes, Jerome Encarnação, Tommy Encarnação and Leila Encarnação. He will be missed by his siblings, Lucinda Neto Pereira, Rodolfo Lopes, Alice Morais, Maria Lopes(Tache), José Carlos and Luis Carlos, Maria Lima(Bia), Julia Encarnação, Vera Encarnação, Manuel Encarnação, Valeriano Encarnação, grandchildren nieces and nephews.

John was well known by the Cape Vedean Community. Started in the Cape Verde Islands of São Nicolau, Sao Vicente and most known in the Sal Island, for his great ability with carpentry and leaving great work for people To enjoy his arts. Coming to the US to seek better opportunities in life and working with many Capevedeans and other communities, John still working with Carpentry in the US was able to build his own Company and all Communities. John and his business “Sal Constructions” was well respected and requested by many beyond the Cape Vedean Community. Many houses in Rhode Island and other parts of the country may have been touched or fixed by John's hands. John was always available and glad to help and answer anyone in need of his business and beyond. He was a great support for the community by using his business and skills. He lived the life of many Cape Vedeans' dreams. With great pride and business skills, John built his family and a decent living for him and his children.
John loved to play acoustic guitar in his free time. He said he learned to play guitar on his own and it was a passion to just sit down and to play the notes and look through the piano book and try and enjoy the melodies. At times his two older daughters try to accompany him to learn to play guitar, good laughs and good memories.

All family members have endless, precious moments of John, from holidays get together, singing and dancing. Each have a story to tell of John that they cherish in their heart. And lastly, a few words from the youngest of John's children, Leila Encarnação ““ to my dad thank you for making my childhood memories the greatest of all time. Thank you for coming through every weekend and making sure we always left happy. never a dull moment with you. Thank you for our last laughs together you sure always knew how to make me laugh. I know I get my humor from you no doubt. Thank you for being the best father, friend I could’ve asked for.”

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visitation at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave. Lincoln RI on Friday, February 16th from 4:00-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17th, DIRECTLY at St. Anthony's Church, 32 Lawn Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860 at 10am. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence, RI 02906.
